Girlie Card

I made this card for a friend of my sons birthday this weekend. I don't often get to make really girlie cards so this was great fun!.
The princess is "Princess Ava" from The Greeting Farm stamped in a digi oval from Birds Blog then cut out by hand. (I badly want some nestabilities but I am too cheap to buy them) I colored her with good old Crayola pencils and crayons. I shaded and smoothed everything out with baby oil and a cotton swab. Paper pierced the mats with a clear ruler and my piercing tool. Then added a ribbon and white brads to finish it all off. Inside is stamped with Happy Birthday in pink.

I am going to jump right in by posting a past project. I made this explosion box / gift card holder last December. The template can be found here;

I used the stiff plastic packaging from a picture frame as the acetate strips. I also found free clip art on the web and created patterned paper for the box.
Please Bear with me as I learn to navigate this new medium
