More Valentines...

I made 2 more Valentine's for my Boo's 2 best friends.  He loves easel cards so I had him help me construct this precious little kitty I got from haunting the blog over at Free Digital Stamps I used some embossed paper from my stash and a Fiskars punch for the decorative border.
The second card is a Sliding Pop up Card I found the directions over at SCS.  I dry embossed hearts on red card stock and used some DCWV pattern paper as an accent. The puppy was also found over at the Free Digital Stamp Blog.  The ribbon is from my stash and is printed with gold hearts and says I love you.

That's all for now lots of editing to do as I took massive amounts of pictures this weekend at Monster Jam.  I also have one last Valentine to make for my Hubby.

Monster Jam Autograph Album

Hello all!  It's DONE! I have obsessed over this for weeks and I am done before the last minute!!!!! Go Me!  We are taking my Boo to Monster Jam and have passes to the party in the pits.  Where he can get pics and autographs of the drivers.  With that in mind I made him a book to take with him.  Get ready LOTS of pics ahead!

I saw this album on SCS and loved the sentiment so that was where the inspiration for the cover came from.

I took some DCWV paper that looks like sand and crumpled it up multiple times then gently placed it over a $1 album I got from Target. Once glued down it has great texture and I hit the high points with brown ink to make them stand out.  I then took one of Boo's monster trucks with rubber tires (works better than the plastic ones) and inked them with black ink and drove across the front and back covers.
The front image is from S J's Little Musings Charlie is his name.  He is a pre-colored digi stamp that was a freebie about a year ago.  The font is a combo of a bloody Halloween font and a Lucinda handwriting font.  I thought when colored brown it looked as if he finger painted with mud.

Inside are pages with images of his favorite monster trucks from the web and the Monster Jam Kids Place
For Grinder I found a pic of a gear that I tinted red in PS and took scraps from the cover and a deckle edge scissor and created a ramp.

For Monster Mutt Dalmatian (my favorite truck) I used a MS punch set then laced red ribbon through the openings, hand drew and cut out some dog bones as embellishments.

El Toro Loco gave me no end of trouble I remade this page twice.  I drew stands in the background and paper pieced the wall and cut crushed cars off another coloring page and hand colored the cars and dirt.

Maximum Destruction got the flames I made for the original El Toro Loco page.  I paper pieced them out of scraps (I knew I saved all those little pieces for something) I placed them along the side to look as if he has just jumped through flames.

Grave Digger is next I chose a cloud pattern paper in a red brown from DCWV cut out a moon, cloud and the ground from scraps.

Last is my sons current favorite The Mohawk Warrior.  I used a sky background from the same DCWV paper stack and a ramp from cover scraps.

There are many more monster trucks that will be at the event but these are the main ones I know he will want to see.  I have placed blank pages opposite each truck page for the drivers to sign, as well as extra pages in the back in case we have time to visit other trucks.
My plan is to take pictures of him with the drivers and scrapbook the pics and autographs.  I will scan them and place the scanned copies in this book for Boo to have in his room and to take to show and tell.
Well that's it for now,

New Project

Just a quick post about the current project.  Not ready just yet but almost done.  I am in the process of making a an autograph album for my Boo.  We are going to Monster Jam soon and they have autograph and photo sessions with the drivers and trucks.  I thought rather than taking a blank book we would jazz it up a bit LOL.  Yup just another excuse to play with paper :)  I will start posting the pages tomorrow.

Valentine Part 3

Here is the 3rd and final project. I made this one for Boo's teachers. I found this post on Split Coast Stampers and loved it.  Following her blog to the link for the original idea that had printables!

I altered the design a bit by matting both the window and dial on silver card stock, and I thought Hershey kisses looked more like ear buds so I attached them with a star punch and a silver lined circle.
Really hope the like them as I had a blast making them.  Only 4 more valentines to go and I will be all done till the next holiday...

Valentines Part 2

Its a beautiful sunny day here in Florida, mid 70's balmy.... What is that I hear? Screams from from my friends up north?   *giggles*
So the second project I made I found here. Any one who knows my son knows he is a rock star.  (He will tell you too) He loves music and could play basic drum riffs when he was 3.  I saw these and thought they were perfect!

and then;
I simply printed the pattern on cardstock and cut out punched a hole and folded them over the heart shaped pops.    I think they look adorable!
Thats all for today, one more valentines project to go.

Valentines Part 1

Hello there!
Crafting while every one in the hose has a cold is impossible, more so than trying to get things done with a rambunctious 5 year old boy asking you to "watch this momma!"  I cringe every time I hear it now ;)
Well I finally finished the valentines for Boo's class.  I ended up doing 3 different projects for them.  Today I will start with the "Special" valentines.  There are 4 little girls that my Boo plays / fights with regularly at school.  He says that he "Loves " them... He's 5.... Anyway he asked if I would make special valentines for them. I gave him a choice of a flower or a butterfly I found at Skip to my lou. (Lots of cool projects there you should take a look) he chose butterflies so this is what I made;
a close up

So simple!  I took paper from DCWV and printed directly on them with my printer. the google eyes that were on the ones at the web site creep me out so I left them off  :)  He will be writing notes to his special friends on the backs of these and we may add some stickles for a little sparkle.
More tomorrow
